I am running on a athlon 700 mhz, voodoo 3 16 meg, 128 meg ram.  Then game
runs great until i turn the force feedback on.  As soon as i turn it on, the
game gets so choppy while driving that it almost freezes at time.  I am
using a Microsoft FF 2 joystick, can anyone tell me what i have set wrong
that is causing the whole system to bog?

The MS FF controllers have significant CPU overhead compared with some (not
all) other manufacturer's implementations.  I get this from some reviews and
benchmarks posted over the last two years or so.  You may be seeing the
effects of a bogged down CPU.

At a guess...  Possible IRQ conflict?  Is it freezing in time with
sounds or anything?  Just a thought...
