Hi All,
I just re-installed N2003 on  my old P3 for my nephew...
I re-formatted the drive and re-installed Win 98 SE...
The engine sounds in N2003 come out as a tinny, shrill sound...almost like a
turbo prop. I installed the engine sound patch from Black Hole motorsports
hoping that it would fix the problem but it didn't. I tried to download an
updated driver for the sound card but it didn't help either. Anyone have any
ideas?
The system is-
P3 -733
384 MB ram
Win 98 SE
ALS 4000 32 bit PCI sound card- it's only about a $10 or 20 sound card from
Compusa but N2003 is the only program (so far) that I've encountered any
problems with.

Well, some ideas:

- Use the latest DirectX
- Make sure you are using high sound quality in the game, not low
- Make sure your speakers are still working for other games, and not damaged.
- Try reducing the number of sounds to 8(or whatever the minimum is)

I'm almost certain it's the latest DirectX and I have the minimum sounds set
to the lowest...still no luck..
Anything else might I try?
