warning.  I have been racing Papy sims since Indy 500 and never have I had
so many problems.  I've seen other post about simular cases but no
resolution.

System
ASUS P4C800 Deluxe
1gig RAM
120x2 HD's
ATI Radeon 256meg 9800 PRO
Audigy 2
XP
All the latest drivers and bios's I can find.
Some Please HELP.

Do you have scanner ?  I found the by unplugging my Microtech

took me several months to get where n2003 would run earlier this year. Turns
out my problem was a bad ti4200 and bios need updating to correctly deal
with my Raid array.
I feel for you, know for a fact how frustrating it gets. Hang in there.

When I bought my new computer, Nascar either hung on the intro or CTD.  Brought
the computer back, they updated the vid drivers on my Nvidia card (the ones
with the card were several months old) and that fixed the problem

Mjones...

let all of us know if you fix it, someone else might get same problem...

Anyway, let me check with you Some things

A: are you attempting to run OPENGL or Directx (on the 3d video setup?)

Second, how far do you get before it just up and dies?  are you racing,
almost into the car, in the track selection screens?  or is it dying as soon
as you launch the game?

B:  (I could be assuming too much here)
I also assume XP-Home?  and you are on it as administrator or
equal account right?  If not you might have to click the properties of the
launching Icon, and let XP "Run As" the person (or another account you make
that is only for launching some games, so that your kids can run games from
their logon, but don't get the  who does have administrative privileges...
(full control of the XP system)

So like at my home, Jar has the limited account, but when he launches
his
Icon (which also switches "last_player" to his name, it runs with my
credentials...  If I understand it right, doing it this way, will just let
the game be able to have Read Write so like when ini's and stuff change in
the papyrus folder (If I
understand this correctly).

Or I recommend XP Pro where you can lock out some logins from the control
panels & other settings but they can use the computer just fine?  which I
what I am planning to do soon.

I've tried both opengl and d3d does the same thing.
Some times I can drive a few laps without problems but, soon as I hit ESC
boom, reboots, other times if I race long enough it just reboots as well.

I am using XP, home ver, and I am the admin user.
Where is Eric Bush when you need him...

Hehehe, ya.

Hey, I bet you have PS problem or bad Vid card...  Any chances of swapin out
cards to test?  then the ps might be flakey, with those new vid cards?
