question.
According to Papy (as recently as an interview on AGN a couple months ago)
the reason that FF wasn't part of GPL was that with the state of the
technology, there was no way to do FF with a level of realism worthy of GPL.
Now that FF will be included, what has changed? Have the FF wheels available
now somehow evolved to a point where an implementation realistic enough to
be worthy of the state of the art in realism that is GPL is now feasible? Or
is this another example of Sierra's forcing Papy to compromise away their
ideals?
I sure hope its the former and that the FF implementation in GPL 1.1 will
present a true enhancement to the realism and not just an attempt to make
GPL more commercially viable.
But its the latter, perhaps as Fran?ois Mnard stated in another thread,
this marks the end of the Papy that we have known in the past. As far as I'm
concerned, the very integrity of Papyrus and their commitment to realism is
at stake.
