I'm trying to find a decent 3d accelerator for my brother's Christmas
gift. Like me, he loves NASCAR 2, Quake, and (based on the demo)
SODA. The budget is low: $80-$120. He's got a P133, 24 megs RAM, and
an old Diamond Stealth 64 with 2 megs DRAM. I will either get him a
Matrox m3d or Stealth II s220. At the moment, I have favoring the
S220 due to it's favorable D3D performance and the fact that I think
it will run the Rendition native version of NASCAR 2. My question is
this: will in fact the S220 run NASCAR 2 with it's native 3d support?
I am also curious of OpenGL is supported under Win95 on this board.
FWIW, I did quite a bit of reading - including searches at dejanews -
before posting and I never could get a clear answer. However, from
what I can tell, NASCAR 2 runs with 3d acceleration on the V2100 (as
found on the S220) and OpenGL is supported on the S220. Any facts to
the contrary?
Many thanks for your input.
Sam
