Nascar Heat-Racing Line Question

by Paul Jage » Fri, 16 Feb 2001 02:49:41

Greatly enjoyed watching my first Nascar race (Bud Shootout) on Monday, here
in the UK (just the highlights I'm afraid, on Eurosport). During the race,
Dale Earnhardt used the outside of the track a lot, but still kept up with
the leaders. I thought I would try this out in Nascar Heat, but all that
happens is I loose several places to other cars. What am I doing wrong? The
foot rarely comes off the gas pedal, but still I lag behind. Any advice
appreciated.

It's not "what am I doing wrong?" is more... "What is the title doing
wrong?".

S***NH, buy N4 and appreciate the fine art of drafting on the high groove.

You can emulate the line, but you can't emulate Dale.

He is famous for being able to suck a draft from something that isn't there,
including your doors, wheel wells, and some believe the sponsor stickers :)

Your setup is probably not helping either...and...remember,
heat is modeling LAST years aerodynamic rules...so the lines that they
run this year will not match up well.
