OK, I've read on here about the problems with Nvidia driver 21.80 and
Geforce 3 cards. I've tried out various drivers and have found some that
work. My problem is that when I run the analyse bit under 3d setup, it gives
me Full object detail with minimum texture detail. I get a score of 3.3 mtri
(whatever that is). How do I set the game to run with better textures? Are
EA gonna patch this game to get it to run with the better drivers? Other
than thi, it seems to be an excellent game.

My system
Athlon 1.4ghz
Geforce 3
512mb DDRAM
Win Me
Dirx

Yep they are going to patch it. If you look for posts in High Gear, one of
the ISI developers say that FF and better support for the newer dets will be
in the up and coming patch.

Seems from your description that the problem lies with Nvidia and not ISI.
You think they could get together with developers and argree on a standard
to achieve sucess for both speed and graphic splendor.
I thought the 21.80 detonators were great for GF3's.  It was the GF2 users
who had problems with that version.

Something is seriously wrong if you only get 3.3. You should be getting
around 22!

Are you sure you have a clean install of the drivers?

Either use a utility to clean the registry or make sure you answer No to
keep existing files.

Have you tried 3dMark 2001? You should get a score around 5000-6500 with
that spec. Could point to a driver problem.

Dave
I have a GF2 Ultra and have been using the 21.80s successfully since they
came out.  As posted elsewhere, the only problem I have with the 21.80 is
with F1 2001.  There is a problem with the 21.80s and ISI are aware of it.
If you look at some of the posts from an ISI guy in High gear, you'll see
that they admit to it, and are working on a fix.

I downloaded the 21.81 driver from the nVidia site, but when I
double-click on the file (it's a .exe), I get a DOS-like command window
for about 2 seconds, it closes and that's it.

nVidia says the WinXP_21.81.exe a self-extracting executable. Any idea
why I can't get this unpacked?

Thanks for the ideas. I've been doing lots of installing and cleaning
drivers. With the 12.90 drivers my 3dMark is awful (on the first demo I was
getting 17FPS!!!). I unistalled these and put the 21.81 back on. 3dMark was
good, so I tried F12001. The 3dsetup gave me 22 Mtri and full on both
texture and objects. I go to race and all I get is a black screen. What is
going on. HELP!!!!!

On another note, my best 3dMark score is only in the mid 4000. Is something
wrong? Should I do a complete reinstall? I only got the card at the weekend,
and I'm not really all that impressed. I've had little improvement in N4.
