Nascar3 crashes to desktop...

by Keit » Fri, 07 Jan 2000 04:00:00

Now, here's the problem...my system keeps crashing to the desktop during any
game using D3D (particularly Nascar3).  I've fiddled with nearly everything,
and I've tried many different reference drivers.  Anyone have a clue?

My system...FIC VA503+ w/ latest BIOS, K6-2/400, Win98SE, 64MB PC100,
Guillemot Xentor 32 (TNT2 Ultra) w/ latest BIOS, SB live Value!, IBM 8.4GB,
blah, blah, blah.  I've used both Guillemot's 2.40s and NVidia's 3.53s with
the latest 1/3/99 AGP driver from VIA, as well as all of VIA's other patches
and updates (4in1 drivers).

And...
Is anything really Plug-N-Play?

Nascar3 crashes to desktop...

Try knocking the resolution down one notch.  My system was doing it at
800x600 and quit at 640x480.  My conjecture is that the 8 meg my on-board
Direct 3d video adapter is taking out of the resident 64-meg of system
memory was just the straw that broke the camel's back.
