n3 GeForce 2 please help

i have a p3 550 meg w/128 mb ram. i have a geforce2pro 32mb video card that is
giving me fits with n3. papyrus/sierra tech support sucks!!  no help there
they are making it worse.  original problem was when i clicked "go to track"
and it went to that screen, the pic of the car on pit row was jumping. i
contacted sierra, they  put me thru their usual b.s. checks and then told me to
d/l the nvidia detonator driver (their latest). now i go to the screen where
pic was jumping and the car is all one color and in a blocky shape. no
definitive pic at all. call sierra back and they now tell me i have to delete
all old video drivers first then load new driver. i dont know sh*t about this
stuff. anyone have this problem or can give me some help   thanks in advance

sounds like they had the right idea.  Getting rid of all the old drivers
is often the best way of updating a graphic card.(you would think video
driver installers would do this for you...but...)
anyhow...often you can unzip drivers directly into your main folder and
the game will only use those.  i.e. for GPL unzip to \sierra\gpl  and for N3
try  \papyrus\nascar3.
This leaves your system drivers alone but allows you to find a working
driver for some sims.

say my desktop,dl right into the nascar3 folder??  is this right?   thanks

  Kinda.

dload the drivers, and you can put them anywhere, in a temp folder, on
your desktop, in my documents, really anywhere you can find them again.  But
when you unzip them, extract them directly into your N3 folder.
You will face two hurdles tho..and I hope somebody else can add to
this...but you probably don't NEED all the files in the zip.  Just certain
ones....Hopefully another Nvidia user will be able to clarify this and
second...
your drivers  "may" come in a self-extracting file...by that I mean, you
double clik on the downloaded file and then the installer program takes off
and puts all the files where it thinks they should go.   You still should be
able to unzip them manually...try right clicking on the downloaded file and
see if you can extract the compressed files without running the
.exe/installer file.
Keep asking questions til you've got a firm grip of what we mean...better
safe than sorry later.
