With the GForce 3 getting ready to hit the street this may be a lousy
time to buy any video card. Prices of whatever you are looking at now are
almost certain to drop.

I'd def be thinking about a GTS rather than an MX. With the G3 prices of
existing cards will come down, you could get a good deal.

If you can afford the GTS then you should get it.

I think so!  I just replace my Hercules MX w/ a Hercules GTS Pro and
am in love with my PC again (Athlon 700, 256MB RAM).

N4 looks great and runs so smooth (when it is not crashing or
freezing!  Aargh!) in D3D in 32-bit color.  Am going to try and see if
it will run in OpenGL in 16-bit.

Go take a look at www.tomshardware.com , they have a good comparison there
between all the Geforce 2 cards (MX, GTS, Ultra etc), and from what I read
the GTS would definately show a noticeable difference over the MX in a P3
900 so pay the extra $$$ if you can afford it.

Matt.

Go with the Geforce MX.  I did and I haven't regretted it one bit.  I have a
friend who bought a GTS and had a lot of configuration problems with it and
his AMD Thunderbird.   Finally gave up and went with an MX and has had no
problems.  BTW, I picked up a CardEx MX for $84 through mail order.  You
can't hardly beat the performance for the price.
