NASCAR Racing 2003 on Radeon 9500 Pro (also RASCAR??)

Hi,
I am running the game with an Ati Radeon 9500 Pro and when I choose OpenGL I
get great frame rate 80fps+ most of the time, then I go around a corner, at
say Watkins Glen, and the frame rate just tumbles! Goes to like 20fps! I run
4X AA and 2XAF. So, I switch to D3D and I get slightly less framerate, but
it's solid and never bottoms. Anyone having this similar problem? I guess it
doesn't matter, but OpenGL seems so much faster untill these issues come up,
I noticed it in the demo as well.

This new game is incredible! The cars feel SO much better, especialy on the
road courses, they have really inproved the overall feel of speed in the
game as well. I kept 2002 on my drive for now, but I don't think that will
last very long.......

One other thing, how do I join the RASCAR league?? What's involved and is
there a website or something?

Joe

The ATI cards are much better suited for D3D than OpenGL.  OpenGL is better
suited for Nvidia cards.  IMO once you get above 40fps a steady frame rate
is more important than a higher peak. I love my 9700 pro in D3D and was than
thrilled with it in OpenGL.

I have read that there is a problem with the sun glare and ogl. turn that
off and it may help the problem.
