I'm just a casual gamer but love the nascar sims from Papy. I've been using
a Geforce2MX for some time on an Athlon 1.1 gig system with 512mb of Ram. I
can still play Nascar 2003 pretty well if I turn off most of lighting and
shadow options but am thinking of a budget upgrade.
Can anyone tell me if the Radeon 8500 would offer much of a performance
boost over my current card or offer other suggestions. I'm not looking for
top of the line prices so under $100 would be my limit to spend.

Compares a bunch of graphics cards on current and older (Athlon 1000)
systems. Seems to indicate you could expect a decent framerate gain.
