Grand Prix on DVD

I'm sure this has probably been posted here before but I thought this would
be a good place to drum up support for having this movie released on DVD.

Grand Prix (1966) - Directed by John Frankenheimer
http://www.racesimcentral.net/

I was watching this on VHS from when it was on speedvision a while ago.
Spectacular race sequences, it would be so sweet to have this title on DVD.

Go and enter your email address and you'll be voting to have this released
on DVD.  And, you'll be notified when it is.

I'm working on a book abt. "Grand Prix" and the director, John
Frankenheimer, promised he'd go to bat with the studio to get it released on
DVD around the time the book appears.

That's great news, both about the book and Frankenheimers talk with
the studio :) Can we expect the book in the near future or is it a
long term plan?

Andre,

It's gonna take a while.  Frankenheimer wants it to happen, two publishers
are gung-ho, and I'm good to go, but it's a big undertaking, and I wouldn't
expect it any earlier than next Christmas, if then.  It'll be worth it, I
promise.

For the movie, they used the banked portion of the track, which hadn't
been used for F1 since 1961.   I was disappointed that it wasn't part
of GPL as some sort of Easter Egg.

So in other words the movie Grand Prix was incorrect in the way it depicted
Monza, at least in the bank? That's unfortunate considering how they made a
big speech about how the bank was so hard to drive. It was interesting how
they were saying how they didn't like Monza because of the speed, how much
your car bottoms out, how the suspension is basically not doing a thing in
the turns, etc. I actually liked that movie a lot...well, the final race
that I saw.

Formula One raced the 10000m Monza road course + oval from 1955 to 1961,
only.
