derivatives on their computers. Has anyone ever heard of any of the F1
drivers palying GPL?

from the london times:
... when he arrived at the post-qualifying press conference, the
personification of grunge with his shoelaces dragging on the ground
and wearing a T-shirt covered by a denim shirt open to the waist, he
admitted sheepishly that his ability to outqualify Hill for the first
time since the opening race of the season in Melbourne owed much to
playing on a computer video game, the GP2, that recreates the contours
and curves of every grand prix circuit.
"It is going to sound childish and stupid," he said, "but I checked
out the new video game and the tracks are fairly close to the real
thing. It gives you a good idea of where you should be going. You know
that after the start-finish line you are going to get to a hairpin and
then you are going to be at Eau Rouge. I didn't get pole on the video
game, though. I was 18th."

There is hope for all of us ;-D
Dolle Dolf
Dunno about GPL but on the 1996 F1 review video there is a shot of
Barrichello playing what I think is ICR2...

Unfortunately, I couldn't ask him about it, since the process is an
assembly line and I didn't get a chance to look at the card until I
was done with the whole exercise.
One might assume that Paul Tracy has at least tried it. In a piece
in the program about teammate relationships, both of them
diplomatically said that they get along well off the track, and Dario
said that they often play PlayStation games in Paul's motorhome
all night. Dario probably doesn't lug the computer around with him,
but maybe Paul's tried it at home or something. It seems fitting
somehow that Tracy's more of a PlayStation guy.

Deepest apologies,
Jonathan
People post posts about races and post results inadvertantly or purposely
because they wish to express something about said race. This is a problem
if you are still watching it.
Solution:
Pretty easy if you ask me. DO NOT READ THE NEWSGROUP UNTIL AFTER YOU FINISH
WATCHING THE RACE. :) (sorry about the caps)
THE TOPIC THAT CONTAINS THE SPOILER IS:
