After sitting back reading all the pros and cons of GP3 and having raced
around abit with it. it amazes me at what you expect from this game ( the
whingers that is).

I dont see your names in the top f1 teams on sunday nights watching the
broadcast . GP3 is fun, it handles like a real car, my MSFF wheel works
great with all the crashes all the kerbs and grass felt, it s easier to
drive than that ***y GPL but not as nice as SCGT at bathurst with  V8
Supercar, now thats a challenge, Toca 2 is damn fun and handles like a real
car. Colin Mcrae shits on rally 2000 for car dynamics but tracks distance is
very arcade bummer

I wonder how many of these Critics that we are all putting up with even have
a ***y drivers licence at all, or have ever driven a real car . Or have
driven at speed, Oh and before you all howl me down i have driven real race
cars( stocks cars, a ford escort rally car, Mazda RX7 GT sports car and a go
at a formula ford) so i can talk from experience

getting long winded here so i better get of my soap box and say GP3 it worth
the money

well, not all of the whiners complain about the physics only ... IMO the
physics is quite good, at least better than GP2. but what we all really
expected was a GP3, not a GP2.5, and that's what it is. the improvements
are: better physics, weather conditions, 3d graphics. that's all. old
GP2 bugs are still present, just your own sounds, stupid AI, useless
default setups, buggy direct-input support, coarse grained graphics, bad
multiplayer. don't get me wrong: I like the game and will probably play
it often, but after all the hype I thought it might hook me up like GP2
did 4 years ago or even like GPL did 2 years ago, but this is not the
case. best modern f1-sim though, but no milestone.

you drive a Mazda RX7 GT  but find GPL to dificult to drive!! -- remind me
not to get in a fast car with you    hehehe  ;)

I wonder how many people asking these questions have played
World Circuit and GP2 extensively? You don't need a F1 super
license to know that SloMo, lack of computer controlled car sounds
total ***multiplay is pretty bad. I think many people had expected
that after 4 years many of these points would have been addressed.

I was hoping to see 4 years worth of improvement. However, after seeing
those early videos I sort of lost faith. I still hold my scepticism was
justified.

Yeah well, if I or any of the people on RAS were F1 drivers we wouldn't have
time to playtest racing sims. For the ump***th time: one doesn't have to be
an F1 driver (or need a degree in physics) to see something is not correctly
modelled.

Like hell it does, you must have a stronger imagination than I have. Either
that or you don't make any driving mistakes. I make quite a lot of driving
mistakes... especially in a new sim. I immediately noticed my mistakes in
GP3 were having a negligable effect on the car, which is exactly the
opposite of what I would expect from a modern F1 car.

Apart from the initial bump when you hit it there's no FF from the kerb,
i.e. you don't feel the reacted force from the slope on the kerb, nor it's
ridges. Have a closer look next time I'm not in an F1 race and notice how,
even with power steering on the Ferrari and the McLaren the wheel shakes in
the hands of DC, Mika, Rubens and MS.

GPL punishes you for making driving mistakes... life's a ***, ain't it?

I'd still give it to RC2000 on the whole, although I find the damage/wear
thing slightly suspect. The cars do have a tendancy to bounce away from you
though.

Check.

Check.

135mph fast enough for you?

There's lots of posters on RAS with a RL racing background. Only one of the
RL racers I'm aware of (apart from you) "loves" GP3. Last I heard he was
nursing a FF back to full health after stuffing it.<g>

It's not bad value for money... as long as that money wasn't mine! ;-)

Oh f*ck...I can't (don't want/need to) drive. Better resign. Sorry for claiming GPL has a great driving
model and that nothing else -- especially GP3 -- comes close. I was obviously out of my depth.

I'll get my coat.

PS GP3 is fun and it is worth the money IMO. But it's GP2 in disguise.
