Gravis GamePad NASCAR

Does anyone have any info on using the Gravis PC GamePad with NASCAR
racing.  I have tried it, but it seems as if when I am steering that the
control causes the car to steer hard left or right.  Is there a way to
have it gradually turn as with other joysticks or the keys?  Any info
would be appreciated.

The Gravis gamepad is not an analog joystick correct?

I believe it is a digital joypad which reports values as if it were an
analog stick. (ie. On the X axis, it can read full left, center, or full
right, but it returns it as an analog stick would)

If this is the case, then there is no solution to your problem (other than
to not use the Gravis GamePad)

The bizarre thing is that the Gravis (or similar) GamePad is being bundled
with Nascar Racing in the software stores.  I just don't get it.
