: is there an easier way to steer this car? I'm all over the road, the other
: cars, and the wall... a general menace... a yellow flag waiting to happen.
: It seems that pressing the steering button nearly always results in
: oversteer; turning on steering help is too easy. Do I need a Grand Prix1
: steering wheel? What do other people use? Granted, I just got this game
: on Friday and I hear the learning curve is awfully steep. I'll just keep a
: lot of Bondo and a fire extinguisher on hand.
If I am not mistaken the Gravis Gamepad is a "digital" input device.
You might make improvements by getting a "decent" analog joystick.
Depending on your driving style a wheel with pedals may help alot. Some
enjoy the Grand Prix 1 by Thrustmaster, but for NASCAR racing I really
like to have my feet hitting the brakes and mashing the throttle.
Thrustmaster also has the T2 which is a steering wheel with pedals. As
far as I am concerned their products are good solid "introductory"
units. If you are looking to speed the big bucks check out some of the
other Wheels/pedals available. (Marc, what's the URL for Sim Racing
News coverage of wheels?)
Here are some URL's for Steering Wheel based input devices (from the
