F1 2000: Gravis Gamepad help...

First off, don't scream.  I am planning on a system upgrade soon and a
wheel is definitely in my plans. :)

But for now I have my trusty Gravis Gamepad (the basic one with 4
buttons).

I am doing okay controlling the car but sometimes I will want to turn a
fraction one way to straighten out and it flips over the other way,
mirroring my last position.  This gets tough when approaching a corner...

I have tried playing around with the controller options: sensitivity,
dead zone, high-speed sensitivity, etc but it doesn't seem to
help.

Can anyone give me any settings to try?

Thanks,

    - Tom N.
