I think we all know our conclusion afer this, and it ain't "awsome" :-)

The fact that Image Space Inc. is doing F1 2000 gives it every chance to be
good and realistic.  The guys at ISI made their first sim which was SCGT,
which was good for a first sim, and learning the ropes.  Now they know what
they need to do, and it looks like F12K will give GP3 a run for its money.
Now, I'm not saying one will be better than the other, but I am saying it
will be interesting to see which one is best.  You can't grade the game
before you try it, even if you are banking it on past games.  Nascar
Revolution was made by a different company, though published by the same as
F1 2000.  The actual developer that makes it is what counts.  They're the
one's who code it afterall :).

Well Sports car GT is on of the most adaptable sims out right now,  maybe
you should look at it before casting you vote due to a Nascar game.  Nascar
games are not the end of sims anyway,  personally I get bored fast running
around in circles.  Also what otehr sim out lets you basically design the
car and then race it and you have the ability to design a track and drive
on it.  Any game that lets you run Vintage cars like a McLaren M8D, Lotus
Cortina, to a 70 Boss Mustang, or modern ALMS cars like the BMW LMR or the
Panoz LMP.  Well its a EA sports game.

No, it's not an EA Sports game. Electronic Arts and EA Sports are two wholly
different divisions. I'm not knocking Electronic Arts. They release quite a lot
of good software (ok, some ;)) including Sports Car GT. What I'm knocking is
the shovelware typical of most EA Sports titles. I doubt F1 2000 will be any
different.

Image Space is doing the F1 2000 for EA, the SAME company that did
Sports Car GT. So its got something going for it.

So! They did take my recommendation into account! About a year ago,
or so (?), I suggested that the makers of SCGT should make an F1-sim!
They already had at least the Hockenheim-track...

Waiting for, and not buying before the r.a.s-comments(!), the F1 2000!

Well if that's the case it may not be that bad after all. I haven't heard
anything about it except what DjFIL posted and EA's Flash site (which says
nothing). From what DjFIL said (makes it sound like just another arcade game
with realistic physics being an afterthought) and the fact that it's an EA
Sports title I wasn't expecting too much.

Hello all,

F12000...?

Just seen a preview in Uk EDGE magazine (the best computer games mag out
here) and well, the graphics look pretty good with the team behind it
promising a "realistic simulation"

Nice shots of the McLaren and Jordan.

Since F1 2000 is being coded by the same people who did SCGT, I for one have
high hopes for it :). Since GP3 even if as good as GP2, will be out of date
as soon as released, I for one would rather have F1 2000 providing is is of
SCGT quality.

There was nothing much wrong with GP2 AFAIC but the idea of 2000 tracks such
as Indy appeals to me far more than GP3s being behind the times even before
release and I dont want to wait for tracks, teams, cars etc to be produced
by supporters when I can have it all to start with.

This of course assumes the physics and driving model of F1 2000 measure up
to what we've come to expect from playing GP2.

I like SCGT for the physics and I think it is a great game but it needs some
damage dynamics (Marc Nelson did a good job patching it). You cannot hit a
wall head on at 200KPH and drive away. I hope that F1 2000 is better than
SCGT. I also hope it is not such a pig on the graphics like SCGT. I can only
run 11 cars in SCGT and anything after that I get choppy starts to the race
(when we are all together). I also hop it has better multiplayer options. I
think that is a key for all games now.
SCGT did lack alot of things (like tire temps for another) I hope they find
their way into F1 2000.
fingers crossed

As I posted earlier.  Take the full review in to your mind.  It sounds 100%
wicked.

And for all those who think it's an american view, it isn't.  It's from Gamespot
UK.  Read it through, it'll get you going.

I already know which one I'm buying. I'm gonna be the ass who chooses
early.  And if I make the wrong choice, who cares.  I'm going for F1 2000.
Reason being I've already got GP2, and GP3 currently isn't looking\sounding much
different.  Upgrades in GP3 from GP2 : Weather, 3d Rendering, improved AI, 97
Stats (or can we count that as a downgrade since we already have patches with
'99 sets, and even the 2000 sets) and the game isn't even gonna get internet
play by the sounds of it.  And the way the release date has been going for the
last 2 years, I can't wait any longer.  Anyway, thanks to all for their replys.
One last thing.  Anyone notice that the***pit screenshots for both EA and
GP look the same?  Except the one for EA is fully 3d rendered?  I know that's
not a real f1***pit, but it's still kinda wierd how they are both the same.
