Just a little remark though: I know personally Marc GENE (i have been working
as a data acquisition engineer in a team competing against him  when he won the
Fortuna Nissan Champ in 1998) and i can tell you that this guy is learning
quickly and that with a better car he would be very Quick and Consistent. I
think Gene is where he is because  this damn Fondmetal engine is a cow!!!

...just to tell you that even if Gene wons one day or another the championship,
it won't mean that Ea F1 2000 is a  realistic sim :)

It should ship at the end of march.
It should be better than MGPRS2, it probably will not be as good as GP3.

Yep, you don't really need to know Gene personally to see that he has
great potential, you just need to follow the F1 races as an enthusiast
not being blinded by the shiny red and silver colours. He really put
some nice performances given the equipment he had. It would be more
respectful of his talent to say that if a Minardi driver wins a
championship, then F1 2000 sucks.

Microprose - GrandPrix3
I'm personaly taking a shot at f1 2000 or getting no f1 game at all.  I
havn't waited 5 years for 3dfx, geoff to put rain back in to the game, no
internet play and to play the 98 season.  And yes... I know ppl will have
patches out... but it still isn't good enough for me.

Just how many more " should be" , " I assume based on..." posts to we
have to have. None of you have tried the Beta or Demo, yet you continue to
compare it to GP3 which you haven't tested yet either.

Just  love to hear how you buy a car. Gee, the magazine said it handled
great.........

I think F1 2000 is going to be one hell of a SIM to everyone who already
liked SCGT, cause it's also made by Image Space Inc. and it's only published
by EASports.

Also ISI has helped people out on editing SCGT and I think they will do the
same for F1 2000, and editing is just what makes a sim live a long time!!!
Also I bet the physics have been improved a lot over SCGT!!

Point taken. It would be nice to see how Gene can do with a better machine.

Agree 100%.  I've heard nothing but good improvements.  And gjon to me has been
very helpful for when I requested info regarding the monza layout change for
2000.  he said there would most likely be a patch for it.  And it's ISI so I
believe them as the did a non ea release patch of scgt.
