I also hope it is not such a pig on the graphics like SCGT. I can only

Well its not the graphics its the fact the AI run the same physics model
you do.  If you see they will slide around and spin from time to time.
Also the do not have that fantastic 4 wheel steering GPL AI has when they
get spun.  That is why the game gets choppy when you have a lot of AI on
the track.

David, I have enjoyed GP2 immensely for the entire time its been available,
nothing else has come close to it for enjoyment. I just feel that GP3 isnt
enough of an update due to the fact that its already outdated before
release.

I own GPL but never have enjoyed it due the fact that I cant identify with
old F1 cars and drivers so it mostly just sits on my HD unplayed.

Everything I've read and seen indicate that F1 2K  is going to be the better
sim at least for my money, cant wait for release :)!

I've driven F1 2000 (visited ISI) and it rocks! I couldn't complete one
single clean lap at Monaco without brushing this or breaking that. This sim
is very very realistic and the physics will blow you away. Its amazing to
see how far the developer have come from SCGT! I think all of you will be
pleasantly suprised when this sim is release!

Are the cars way out of proportion with little heads for the drivers in
the real sim - or are those screenshots just at wierd angles?

I think it's the heads.  Might be wide enough, dunno, but forsurly they arnt high
enough, or the air intake is way to high.  One or another it's a touch off.  But
they are beta, or maybe even alpha, screens.  We'll see.  It's nothing major so I
don't mind.

I've read the review, and I'm just as impressed now as I was after
reading Arthur Axelrods comments. But one issue hasn't been discussed yet,
namely multiplayer. Will F1 2000 have it or not ?

Yes. When I visited ISI we raced multiplayer with 6 systems on their LAN. F1
2000 support TCP/IP.

So what is this excuse we are hearing from the GP3 camp about F1/Bernie
not letting them do internet multiplayer?

He played F1 2000 on a LAN, that's NOT Internet. GP3 will have 16
players on a LAN as well.

Maybe it will only work with all PC's on the same subnet or something?
That would be great because this sounds like a restriction that could
be easy to hack around!

He said that F1 2000 would support TCP/IP.  That is (or can be) the
internet...

like I said in my mail: it *could* be Internet, or it could be
restricted to communication on one subnet (local network).

In that case, it might be rather easy to hack it and enable
communication over the Internet. Hope so...

You're not allowed to have (develop) server based licensed F1 games.
You can have TCP/IP Net or Lan games.
