Problem w/CMR2 and Win2K

by Luis Sot » Mon, 02 Apr 2001 04:21:05

Hi all,
Force feedback is acting extremely weird (undriveable) in this game on
Windows 2000 Pro.
I'm using a Logitech LWFF with the latest win2k drivers, Voodoo5 5500 AGP.
The wheels just acts like it's trying to tear itself apart.  Here are my
system specs:

Abit SA6R V1.0

128 Mushkin Rev3 RAM latency set at CAS2
Win2000 pro wwith SP1 and DX8a
Full install of CMR2 (unpatched) using the nocd patch.
Version 3.65 of the LWFF drivers for win2k
SBLive value (not sharing IRQ w/video card).

Should I go back to '98?
Thanks a bunch, folks, for any advice...
Luis

What percentage of reaction do you have the feedback set at?  Maybe it is
too high.

: Hi all,
: Force feedback is acting extremely weird (undriveable) in this game on
: Windows 2000 Pro.
: I'm using a Logitech LWFF with the latest win2k drivers, Voodoo5 5500 AGP.
: The wheels just acts like it's trying to tear itself apart.  Here are my
: system specs:

I can't tell you what the problem is but CMR2/LWFF GP USB/W2K/Radeon 32DDR
works fine here.  I don't use the Profiler and I have FF set at 80% in "Game
Options", split-axis and all other options (centering spring, etc.) turned
off.  Default settings in CMR2 seem to work OK.

Thanks a lot, guys...
Your help is greatly appreciated.  But I borrowed a friend's Gforce 256DDR
and I have the same problem.  CMR2 will just cause the wheel to go "spastic"
and eventually crashes the system.  In F1CS2000, the system crashes as soon
as I touch the controller, whether or not force feedback is enabled.  But
Win98 will not even install now (msgrsvr error -?-), so I suspect it might
be a motherboard USB issue.  I'm at the point where I think I might just
call my hardware vendor.

Thanks, anyway,
Luis
