***- I can't access my server.  I must have left my firewall program
running...and my other servers don't have the program loaded.
John, can you host today please?  If so, thanks!  If not, I'll have to go to
the office to get the race going.  Let me know.

Sure, but I can only host 20 people.

But you should be careful, I might wrest from you what little control
you still have on the league, and while in a position of supreme
power, I'll launch my nefarious plan to take over the world, starting
with RASCAR.

I know you mean to be funny John, but is now really the time?   In any case
I will not login to watch the race today so others will have a chance to
join.
Good Luck all and Good Racing   :-)

John has got a 20 driver limit... I don't want to be competing for a spot on
the server, so if you could get things sorted, that would be a good thing.

"Now" is always a good time to be funny.  The status of the server is
still not set today. If enough people want Eldred to start the real
server, I'm sure he'll do it.

Given the limited number of connections I can supprt, it would be
better, but since I can host, I will if that's what needs to happen.

As it turned out, I got bitten by the limit.  Jurgen couldn't get in, so I levt
the server to explain the problem with the password.  When I went to jump back
in the race, it was full.  Oh well - no good deed goes unpunished...
I guess I'll just run a race against the AI, or practice F1C.  My RASF1 server
is up now in F1rst - no password.

Hehe...I'm not worried, Sean.  It's just a game, remember?  As I said before,
either one of us are perfectly capable of hosting(and running) a league.

It's 5:30 pm and I am sitting in F1RST2 trying to connect.  I see your
server, there are only 6 people on it, and it is in open practice.  I hit
join and it says I have joined the room.  Then I hit connect and it says
"connecting to host, please wait".  And that's where it stays.  The first
time I tried it got as far as starting the game and then demanded the CD.  I
thought you were using a noCD exe file?  Anyway I put the CD in and tried
again but after the game crapped out on me I could not connect again.
Anyone know what the problem might be?

Just noticed somebody else timed out while I was typing the previous
message.

If it had shifted over to qual by that time, it won't let you in.  The delay
that happens when people joins screws up drivers on hotlaps.  So, the 'no
gatecrashers' option is set.

Shouldn't it show that in the status though?  I'm not doubting you, I just
thought that I would be able to see that.

Ped Xin

Hey Eldred, do you know the "no gatecrashers" is different than the "closed
qualifying" option?  "No Gatecrashers" means that once you have launched
the game, nobody else will be able to join the room, and then join the
game, even if the game is just in practice.  That means only the people who
are in the room at the time that the game is launched will be able to join
the game.  If that is the way you prefer to handle it, then you'll have to
wait to launch the game for some period of time to allow people to get into
the room.  With closed qualify, people will be unable to join the game when
it is in qualifying, regardless of the gatecrashers setting.
