Thanks for 2 fun races guys. Richmond had some good racing in amongst the
yellows. I think the number of cautions were par for the course on a short
track. Atlanta was a lot of fun too. My PC locked at the end of warmup so I
had to start 2 laps down. I managed to get them both back thanks to a couple
of yellows and some help from the leaders. The last 12 laps had some
fantastic racing. Definitely a success.

AAMOF, it was ymenard who first had the idea, but he didn't tell us to give
us time to develop it on our own. But I expect him to take over
administration any day now soon, and we can trust as he'll be doing a good
job - or so he'll say (something to that effect) ... <bg> ;-)

( Apologies to ymenard, I just couldn't refrain from making the comment ;-)

I think there is still a lot of work to be done on learning how to drive
during the cautions.  It seems the further back in line that you are,
the more likely it is that the speeds during the cauion will
continuously vary by as much as 30 mph.

A) When you catch up to the end of the pace line,  pick a distance you
are comfortable follwing at, and slow/speed up to the pace speed.  At
that point, do not deviate from that speed until the green drops.

B) Do not follopw directly behind the guy in front of you.  If he does
something stupid, you won't have to move nearly so far to avoid hitting
him.

C) DO NOT CHAT - AT ALL.

When were YOU bear the back of the line?  I figured you were too fast to
experience the joy of that...<g>

I always stagger my car in the pace line.  I drive on the other side of the
track than the car ahead of me.

I was right behind you on the next to last restart (and I don't know
what you were doing, but you almost came to a complete stop a couple of
times).  You were behind ZZ Busch, and he was half a backstraight behind
the next car in front of him.

This is the kind of stuff that frustrates people in onlines races.

Keeping a reasonable distance is fine, but when you're THAT far behind
the end of the pace line, you're going to frustrate the hell out of
drivers who are quicker because not only do they have to go around you,
they have to make up way more distance than is reasonable.

Too many other people don't.  When you get that yo-yo speed thing going,
someone's bound to get tagged on a pace lap.  It's best to run staggered
until the one lap til green signal is given.

Another easy, works well rule-of-thumb fwiw, is to always have a sliver of
pavement showing between you and the car ahead.
That way, everyone can stay in one line, and it pretty much eliminates any
accordian affect.

It's no big deal at all since RASCAR isn't a league, but for some reason the
race results incorrectly show me a lap down at Richmond.

Oh yeah, I remember you saying "get moving!", or something.  ZZ slowed WAY down
- not sure why.  I had to slow to keep from passing him...  :(
ZZ, what was up with that?  I didn't *see* anything that would have caused you
to stop...

I believe it.

Not like I had the speed to get AROUND him, but I didn't want to be that much
closer to being lapped

I'll even stay staggered as long as there arent any lapped cars yet.  If there
are, I'll move to the high side to let them get into position.

Something's weird with the race standings sometime.  During one of the cautions
at Richmond, I was about to make a pitstop.  My spotter says "We're not on the
lead lap - we can't pit this time by".  I may have been the LAST car on the
lead lap, but I *was* on the lead lap.  I didn't want to chance a penalty, so I
waited until next time by to pit.  Anybody else have something like that
happen?

Well this is different, but still a bug.  I ran another offline race at
Bristol, it ended under caution.  The moment the leader crossed the finish
line, everyone stopped.  did the Papy shuffle and dissapeared.  I  continued
on across the s/f line.  Final results showed everyone in their proper place
but we all finished a lap down from the leader(at least those still on the
lead lap.)

Thats what a warp will do, not so much the code in the game. Sounds like the
