It's definitely worth buying.
The low points are racing with AI, though
that can easily be improved. FPS suffers
during a race though, but there may be
some workarounds for that too.
The other disappointment for me is the
FF. Not very informative, and ***
FPS.
Still, even if all you do is ever
hotlap, it's fun.

This one is getting mixed reviews.... some like it despite its many
flaws while others are giving it 2 thumbs down....

If all you ever do is hotlapping, and don't care much about bad track
accuracy, then I'll say it's the best of any F1 game to date (since Gp2 is
outdated in terms of graphics, and only graphics, but still an important
part).
But is the best of the worst worth it? Not at the current cost I would
say. Probably when it's a little lower, and we can see how the support from
EA/ISI will be.

Let's not go into this another time.
There is no difference of the actual game capabilities between the final
version found on the net and the one in the box. A good portion of the
reviews here since it's been released have been from either version, and a
good portion of this NG I would say will accept a illegal review of a
software. It was done for about every title for the last 2years. It's the
way people have agreed in majority on this newsgroup that NFS:PU is a great
title. Same for SBK. Same for GPL. Same for GP500. Same for <insert X
title>.
Who knows? I might have raced it all weekend long at X's house who owns it.
You shouldn't care at all about this.
In fact, if I see quality support by ISI for patching the title and a good
price drop, I will buy it. The bad track accuracy has killed the e***ment
for me, and at a lesser extent the questionable physics and AI problems.
But all those things can be fixed, and I hope will be.

And you know this -for sure-?
Have you size/date matched the files from the warez version
and the boxed version? Oops, I forgot, you can't because you
only have the warez version.
So, you won't be criticizing others for having warez anymore?
I mean, they could have just been 'racing all weekend long at X's house', right?
Oops, I forgot. You are one of the first (and certainly the most
famous) warez dudeZ in this newsgroup.
Should I refresh your memory?
So Frank, you're not racing it any more are you? I mean since
it's so bad and all, and you haven't actually bought it.
So, you deleted it?
I guess, then, you couldnt have possibly tried out several
fixes that have come out already for the niggling problems
in F1-2000. At this point, you haven't a clue as to how it is
currently working, right?

This is all you have to know. In no point you should extrapolate that I
have not raced the official version, because you simply don't know.
Whatever the point, why aren't you attacking other people, a good portion
actually of this newsgroup who did the same. I can see dozens of reports of
the F1 2000 in both beta and full version, all of them being the illegal
version. Why do you care about what I say but not them? What about
everybody just this week who tried NFS:SU, btw which I did not tried,
because it's not my type of racing game even if I personally feel it's a
great title from all the reviews. Hmm...
> And you know this -for sure-?
right?
Somehow, that would be true. If you look at my threads, I have mostly never
replied against somebody who did a review of F1 2000 or any other title
illegaly. If they review a title that way, I consider it correct
personally, since one of their goal is to inform others and inform
themselves. The only times you see me write something against is neither 1)
the person wants to have it or 2) the person promotes blattently the usage
of it.
Oh wow... I mean wow I posted 1 track back a couple of years ago. -wow-
Yep, It's not on this PC anymore. The only way I'll race it, is if I see a
good improvement and support by ISI, with the correct price for what it's
worth.
This is what this newsgroup is for. People will inform others of the
improvement and support by ISI. I know who I can trust. Some people here
have different views of racing simulators than I, but others have a very
close opinion like me. Since I already know how the normal version is, I
can make myself an idea of how the support makes the title better. Which is
good no? Or is it not? I see a double standard by you. You tell me that
it's somehow imm***for me to test a game which I don't own, yet you also
say that I can't have a clue on how a title performs if I don't have it.

Frank, you snipped -all- of the context out of my post... again.
I don't feel like cutting and pasting it back in this followup to you... again.
I am going to simply *plonk* you. You are someone that cannot
be debated in a forum like this, because you are a cheap debater.

I always do, Michael. I always try to mention the high system
requirements issues, for example.
When I am attacked, or get called silly names, I bite back.
Don't like it, Michael?

I have the retail version and never saw the warez version. Sorry but
even with the "fixes" it still needs major work.... If you enjoy it
fine, but please include a caveat with your glowing reviews.... It sure
needs a major cavaet (in my book).
And while we are on the subject, stop trying to defend F12000 by
simply attacking others.... defend the product (if it can stand it).

Just an observation, but having followed this group since 1995, F1-2000 is
the first title that I recall evaluations based on warez copies. All of our
GPL pre-release info came from the beta testers, or from the "legit" online
magazines who received evaluation copies. Same for GP500, SBK, N3, NL etc.
It seems some big switch was flipped on this particular title. Perhaps it's
a result of the starvation for a decent modern F1 sim.

Very interesting, yclinton. Veeeerrrryyy interesting.
