ICR2 to N2 track conversion nice but ......... not quite there.

David Noonan's ICR2 to N2 track conversion is fantastic (downloaded from the
pits) but the AI is something that really needs attention. At Portland why do
ALL the cars run off the track at the end on the back straight and crash into
the fence and continue on their way as if nothing has happened. (This was the
same problem found in the ICR1 to N1 patch too.)
Similarly at Elkhard Lake some cars run off the track at the end of the pit
straight into the fence. Also*** Trickle can run around some 90 degree
corners at 120mph where others can only do it at 75 mph (great grip).

I also note that when you enter replay mode you automatically go into rear
bumper mode (instead of the mode you were last in).

So far these are the only 2 tracks I've tested.  These error look like a carry
over from the ICR1 to N1 conversion.  Can this be possible?

I would love to use these tracks but with the AI like this how can you have a
sensible race.

Robert Yates.

Robert,
I have asked the same questions previously - seems there are some people
working on it - but I am afraid that most attention will be given the
ovals - until we find a road-course freak-programmer, I guess we are in
trouble. Laguna Seca works pretty well, though.

It would - however - be great to race the r.courses over the net!!

Until then,
Keep practising....:)

You are correct, Robert, and we are working with David to solve the
problem.

The free version of the converter has some definite problems with the AI,
the
full version has improved AI.  And we're working all the time to make it
even
better.  Expect fixes for both of these tracks over the next month or so...

Cheers!
