Sim Suggestion: Group B

I'd love a sim based on the wild heyday of rallying that produced such
cars as the Audi Quattro and Porshe 959, and the Lancia Delta S4
(turbo AND supercharged!).
It's even been suggested that the Ferrari GTO was built with Group B
homologation in mind, and even had a special 650 horsepower version
called the Evoluzione.

These cars were unreal, most of them 4wd, with insane power to weight
ratios. Sort of dirt versions of the wild Can Am cars of the 70's.
A little too wild probably, as spectator and driver fatalities brought
an end to the class in May of 86.

I belive the current WRC cars are faster over a stage than the Group
B's.  Of course, it would have been interesting to see what Group B would
have evolved to with ten more years of development.

The Lancia in the game is the integrale group A car not the S4.  The
S4 btw had a supersharger and turbocharger !!!!!!

Oh yeah, I was fortunate enough to experience one of those driven in
anger once, one of the Finns (I believe it was Seppo Nittymaki or Matti
Alamaki) had one built for rallycrossing and I saw him drive it at the
Norwegian round of the European Championship back in 85 or 86, THAT is a
sound you won't forget anytime sooooon :-)

I was a huge rally fan back in the early eighties. Most insane cars I have
ever seen. I remember reading in Road & track back then a article/comparison
of the cars. They had over 900 HP, and I think they only weighed about
1200-1500 lbs. they were capable of 9 sec 1/4 ET's and would hit crazy
speeds while in the dirt and jumping. Unbelievable. The few rallies I was
able to see on ESPN back then I still remember.  I used to build the Rally
series Models by Tamiya. It was amazing how they fit all that Tech into such
a small package.

One funny thing, eventhough todays cars are supposed to lack power
comparing to group B, they drive the same stages on faster times then
the grp B:s. It's mostley due to better differentials and tires, bu***
makes one wonder about the "300 bhp"-limit. :)

Thanks for the link!
The short wheelbase, widened Quattro's are just as wild as the Evo.
They're so out of proportion they look almost like a charicature.
That Audi (used at Pikes Peak), along with a bunch of other Group B
cars are pictured here:
