: Thanks for the link!
: The short wheelbase, widened Quattro's are just as wild as the Evo.
: They're so out of proportion they look almost like a charicature.
: That Audi (used at Pikes Peak), along with a bunch of other Group B
: cars are pictured here:

Three months ago there was a short wheelbase Quattro Sport for sale in the
town I live in (Davos, Switzerland). The guy couldn't give it away. He
started with a price of 80,000 and a big sign explainng all the history,
technology etc. Then the price dropped to 50,000 (1SFr = 1CAD = 0.68USD),
then it dropped to "Price negotiable". It finally disappeared after about
two months, but maybe he just moved it to a dealership in a better
market. Being a ski resort of the rich and famous, Davos is crawling in
the winter with Escort Cossies, Lancia Integrales, and Subaru WRCs, but
this was the first time I had seen a Group B homologation car in the
flesh, so to speak. My girlfriend didn't understand why I had to look at
it every second day, as to most people it is an ugly little car. I even
have to admit that, although I'm sure I'd get a big grin out of the
performance, I find the whole look of most rally cars too "boy racer" for
street use. I would gladly do without the wings, scoops and snorkels on
most WRC derivatives for a more stealthy look.
