Running a new P-II system, but on my previous homebuilt rig I had a K6-166
running at 200, never had any problems with N2, so I doubt it's the
processor. If this Compaq was one of those $1000 things at Best Buy, I'd
guess they skimped in the video and sound card department. See if you can
find in Device Manager or in some documentation what exactly is installed
for these, and maybe the problem can be narrowed down. Maybe just new
drivers, but possibly a hardware upgrade to these might solve the problem.
