K6 AMD on DOS

You might want to visit this site:  sysdoc.pair.com/

For what it's worth, according to a review of the AMD K6 CPU there, the
chip is arguably the best for Windows 95 and among the worst for DOS
performance.

I don't know anything about the qualifications of the reviewer there.
You might want to take a look and decide for yourself.

By the way, I've found that on my machine -- AMD 5x86-133, 40 megs 60ns
EDO RAM, Matrox Mystique 2 meg video card -- that the game performs best
with the details set to "auto" for SVGA resolution. The game runs fast
enough to be realistic and, a bonus, it runs smoother than if I set the
frame rate. With "auto" running I trim about a second and a half per lap
during practice!
