GPL timing oddities

Hi All,

As we all know, GPL records times to a thousandth but displays them to a
hundredth on pitboard etc. I'm wondering if this is the cause of a
couple of strange things I've seen recently.

A few days ago I was lapping at Watkins Glen and on one lap my pitboard
showed "1m04.77". When I returned to the pits it showed 1m04.78 on the
laptimes chart. The replay also showed 1m04.78.

And just now driving at Kyalami, I did a lap of 1m20.85. The pitboard,
replay and lapchart all showed this, but my best laps board shows
1m20.86!

Anyone know what's going on?

You're not alone.  I had the same thing happen to me - don't know why.

GPL records laptimes to the 1/1000th of a second, so this is why you see
such an oddity...

Just think that the pitboard guy doesn't have enough space to add 3numbers
to the end ;-)

I don't know for sure but I'd expect you did, for example, a 1:04.779.
That would imply that the pitboard and the in-game information screens
round things differently, and I don't know if that's the case.

Cheers!
