GPL Frame Rate Oddities

Has anyone seen this phenomenon? I have a PII-450 with a VRaptor 8MB AGP
Rendition card and 2 Diamond Monster Voodoo2 12MB cards SLI'd together. When
I run GPL in Rendition mode I get 36 fps at 800x600 with 19 cars and all
graphics maxed out. At 1024x768 I get about 27 fps. The funny thing is that
when I switch to the 3dfx cards I get 30 fps in both 800x600 and 1024x768.
Is this normal or is GPL not recognizing the SLI'd Voodoo2's correctly?

I get 36 fps with a single Voodoo 2 card at 800x600. At 640x480,

Actually, I never saw anyone posting framerates beyond 36 fps.
Could 36 fps be sort of an internal limit of GPL?

Just wondering,
Manfred

Wayne, right-click on your desktop, select properties and then the
3dfx tab. You will find a setting labeled "sync Glide to refresh".
Uncheck it, and you will see higher performance in 3dfx mode. With
this option enabled, the framerate will be limited to the screen
refresh rate divided by two. Alternatively or additionally, you might
want to set the screen refresh rate to a higher setting than 60Hz.
