Does anyone know the default FF settings for GPL, I seem to have lost them.
I'm still using a MSFF gameport, but now my puter's a lot quicker I think a
change may be due.

Copied from the core.ini.sample included with the 1.2 patch:
[ Hack ]
steer_ratio = 1
[ Joy ]
allow_force_feedback = 0
force_feedback_damping = 40.000000
force_feedback_latency = 0.085000
max_steering_torque = 225.000000
By default FF is disabled, so you'll need to make sure allow_force_feedback
is set to 1.
I find the easiest way to calibrate the latency is to drive steadily down
the Monza straight weaving from side to side, and occasionally bumping kerbs
etc. If it has changed though, it won't be by much.
I had two identical controllers on two different PC's for a long time, and
the latancy was only 0.003 different between them. Enough to be a minor
irritation, but not enough to really throw you off the track ;-)

Fellow MS-FF users... I have a hell of a time getting GPL to *NOT* turn on
the centering spring. Anything you guy do or might have done to correct
this? I have the GPL profile set in the MS controller util, with Centering
off. 1 in 4 times I goto race lately the game, it will work right. I dunno
if I changed something on my end by mistake, I was looking at ini files, not
long ago. Im using XP, and USB version with the new version of the
profiler?
I know the above is vague, I guess the 1st question is, you got "centering
tension" off or not?
At least when this happens (only occasionally) in NR03, I can windows-key
back to desktop to re select a profile to shut off the centering. cant do
it in GPL though, you cant get to desktop without killing the game clear out
to desktop.

I like to tell myself that if I have the wheel turned (not centered) when I
go to the race screen in GPL that it wont happen -- but that is probably
just an old wives' tale ;-)
What you describe happens to me two or three times a week in practice, but
it has so far never happened transitioning to the race in an online race.
If it it did, it would be horrible but I could probably make it through....
at the very back of the field!
