Ok, these are my times for a few tracks:
Monza 1:32.60
Silverstone 1:34.78
Spa 3:37.44
Watkins Glen 1:08.25
I think I'm maxed out at Monza and Watkins Glen.  I believe I could do better
at Spa and Silverstone.  My question is, is there any more speed the I can get
out of the default setups?  Maybe some kind soul could check out a replay and
suggest a better line...?  I have NO skill at car setups.  I can admit that...
Thanks.

Why don't ya try some of the setups from Alison's site?  It's at
http://nh.ultranet.com/~alison/gpl/
Check under the Downloads link, then the Setups link.  Doug's advanced
setups have some for the Eagle.  I use his setups for the Lotus,
slightly modified.  My best at Monza is right at 1:30.0x, and can
consistently get from 1:30.20 to 1:30.50.  So I'm by no means the
fastest driver out there but Doug's setups have helped me a ton.  Like
you, I'm a driver, not a pit chief!!

Also, check out the rest of Alison's site - fantastic tips & info
about GPL in general.

I'm still racing with the default setups. I drive the Ferrari and my times
are:
Monza : 1:31.6
Silverstone: 1:31.4
Watkins Glen: 1:07:3
Rouen: 2:02.4
Kialamy: 1:22.6
Mexico: 1:51.8
Nurbugring: 8:55:2 (that's still with 2 crashes and 2 spins)

I still think that there is at least a second in the setup/car without me
changing anything.

The only thing is practice and then practice more :-)

Keep on racing,
David Mocnay

Well, I was trying to see how much more I could squeeze out of the defaults.
Based on d'loading setups for N2 and ICR2, most of the setups are UNDRIVABLE
for me.  I found a FEW, but probably only about 10-15%.  Am I even CLOSE to the
limit with these defaults?
BTW, I *have* checked out Alison's website.  Very informative, and I plan on
trying some online races when I'm confident I won't be just a 'king Hiro to
everyone else... :)

Your times are fine for online racing... join the crowd <g>.
FYG, the hot shoes are about 5% faster than what you posted.  But
the fastest drivers in qualifying are often not the people on the
podium at the end <g>.

At Watkins Glen I got 1:06.32 with the default setup, driving the Eagle, maybe try
going into the corners slower and you'll exit faster (so I'm told) try driving
smooth and steady (?!?!In GPL?) Oh well.
I learnt the tracks in GPL not by racing flat out and crashing on every corner,
but by not going past 2nd gear (3rd if I was brave) then gradually pushing it a bit
faster as I went.  Well it worked for me... anyway Eagle good, donuts good, and if
you've had a few beers you don't mind driving reeeally slow :)
