Connecting to online GPL

Ok, I give up.  I can't even connect to my own server.  It tries to connect,
then I get a 'timeout error', then it kicks me out.  I was able to connect to
someone ELSE'S server, though (and got punted by an faster driver, with no
regards...).  Anybody have any ideas?  Also, how do you tell what your latency
is on the VROC 1.1 menu screen.  I didn't see that info, I guess I'm just
missing it...
I've done a clean install of GPL and the patch.  I couldn't connect to ANYTHING
before...

This is a response made to another post on this newsgroup.  Maybe
SpyBoy2(beta) would help you?:

[snip]
There is a new GSB2 beta and I
believe that 99% of the people are using it. It can be downloaded at
 http://www.racesimcentral.net/;After installing that,
patch
with the zip file  http://www.racesimcentral.net/;That
should
take care of that problem. Now, about IE5 and VROC? I would say make sure
you
are joining the GPL 1.1 room. Hope this helps!
