GPL-Connecting online

Hi;

I'm having a problem connecting to VROC.  I just got GPL, the latest gamespy
and have adjusted core.ini to fit my cable modem.  When I try to connect:
i'm launched into GPL, I goto multi-player and attempt to connect and I
either get timed out  OR a connection is established and a channel opened
immediately followed by "closing network device/ closing channel"
Do you have any idea "
a) how to increase the amount of time I have before the connection time
outs?
b) why I achieve a connection, but it is immediately closed?
Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

I am not sure what you mean by this. alternate_ip_addr_lookup=1? The most
important thing is that your core.ini client and server send parameters
match those of the host.

No. There is no parameter for that as far as I know. If you have more than
one IP address on your machine, make sure the right one is selected in the
connection screen. It tends to change when you click an entry in the address
book.

GPL always reports a reason for closing the connection. Like bandwidth
mismatch or connection timeout. Need more info to be able to explain.
