Ok just got the new puter together and brain is fried. Everything works fine
except all connections to online races time out. Join multiplayer fine...join
arenas fine...even chat is OK but all connections time out. What the hell do I
have set wrong?? The only choice is TCP/IP and it gives my ip. I have DSL and
all worked fine on old puter. Thanks for any help.
System is
TBird 1.2
Asus A7A266 mb
128 meg ddr
NVidia 64 meg vid card
Soundblaster live
bellsouth Adsl connection

Do you see any ping numbers in the "Ping" column? If not it is likely an
issue with your firewall. (You said DSL, I assume you have a
router/firewall) It is possible to get to the arenas and chat without
properly configured IP/firewall issues, but they must be setup correctly to
race. Make sure that you have "Find addresses another way" checked in the
multiplayer "Configure" option.

Check out the readme.txt files in the N4 directory, they have some info on
Linksys routers and how to setup port forwarding so you can operate behind a
firewall/router.

Daddyo, this is kinda off topic, but I notice we have the same same mobo and
soundcard, i have the AMD 1.333gig processor, Since setting this system up,
I have never been able to install Liveware 3.0, have you?? Also, I screwed
up and got the mobo with onboard sound, I have it disabled in the bios but
wonder if it's somehow related to the installation of Liveware.
