I saw a post a little while back explaining how to adjust brake sensitivity
in F1 2000.

But however I change to number in the .veh file, 'nothing happens.

Can anybody in the knowing bother him/herself to explain why (or how)?

Works for me.
Don't remember the file exactly, but I think wasn't .veh, was a .cfg,
search brake sensitivity in forums.simracingnews.com. (F12000 forum, of
course).

Is a pretty good value.   With low wings, you'll want a higher
number.   Be certain you change the right file for your car,
each constructor having two different cars.

Are you concerned that they lock up too easily? There's a little blurb about
that in the 1.09 patch readme. They claim that it's actually quite realistic
at lower speeds where as much downforce isn't being generated and hence
there's less grip. I've almost gotten used to it, even with my short-travel
Logitech pedals. You can also move brake bias towards the rear a few points
and see a significant difference.

You need to change the default.vhs file in the Season00/vehicles folder.

Under [CONTROLS] , there is "braking_ratio=9xxx.2"

Change that to about 6500 and then make sure you save it when you close.

hi ttoom

is lowering the number means less locking ??

how low is lowest ?
I did try to start at 3000 but felt little to no difference
with the original

I am using joystick

hi david

What i did was to edit the     ACTUAL VEH file
ie g18gpxa.veh file = arrows

and then did the change to 6xxx.5

and went to track to try out ARROWS
and compared immediately with a BAR
( which is at original )
*** impt to compare immediately ***

there do not seems to be any difference.
but I am using joystick , which might not be
the same as wheel

I think you may still have to change the default.vhs file for it to work.

If it still doesn't, I guess it must be because of the joystick.

hi David

finally got it working
Seems like only in default vhe does it work
else where  would simply produce the same effect

Now I have it at 7500 just enough
for lock up when I need to know my brakes
are working
:-)

I've always had to change the g18gpxa.veh style file,
because I've chosen to not make all the cars equal
in the game options menus.  I guess the default.vhs
one is for the all cars equal setting.

What I do when expirmenting, is have cars not equal.
Then change the files to a spread of values, like
Arrows1 = 6000, Arrows2 = 7000, Williams1 = 8000.
Then startup the game and test them, and try to figure
out how it works.  I like to have it around 7000 for high
wings, currently using 7600 for medium wings,
with 50% forward brake balance on the Ferrari.
