3-D Cards for Indycar 2 and Nascar 2

I have a few questions about what 3-D card to buy.

1.  Gateway 2000 now offers the STB VIRGE 3-D card on their computers.  Is this
card compatible with the rendition versions of ICR2 and N2?

2.  How well does the Screaming 3-D card from Sierra work?

3.  What is my best bet for a 3-D card for running the rendition versions of
ICR2 and N2.

You must have a Verite based video card.  These are Intergraph Reactor,
Sierra Sceaming 3D, and the Creative Labs 3D Blaster.  Enhanced versions
of N2 and ICR2 will not work on any other card.

No it will no nothing.  It's a decent 2D card, but for 3D it just can't
compete with the Rendition and 3Dfx cards.  If you're getting the whole
system from Gateway, you'd be better off having them ship it without a
video card.

The Screamin3D uses the Rendition chip, and as such it will run the
accelerated version of Nascar2.

You'd be best off with the Intergraph Reactor or the Sierra Screamin3D.
Both will perform nearly identically, but there are some differences.
The Sierra card costs a little more, but has a better software bundle.
The Reactor is a bit less, doesn't have as good a bundle, but
Intergraph's support is outstanding.  Neither is a bad choice.

Man o Man I think I speak for many people when I say...GO AWAY for awhile and
do your homework BOY !!   Sick of seeing your name all over Sellin the reactor
and being o so smart. Most of the stuff you spew is incorrect and bias anyway.
I have raced for 20 years( for Real ) and been in the computer business for 14
and I must say you don't know squat ! !
How can you recommend the Screamin3D when Sierra has not even proven
themselves in the Hardware business. Do you remember the sound card fad they
tried a few years back? It Did not work out too well. HISTORY.
And you say that Creative labs makes lousy sound cards?
You deaf son?
Intergraph also has yet too prove themselves in this new market.
You claim that C-labs has lousy support and below average Bios and Driver
updates for the 3D Blaster and there Sound cards?  Go too their web site and
take a look.  Last Bios update for 3D Blaster on Dec 9 , Just got a new one
for the AWE too. All my customers pretty happy with all their C-Labs stuff and
support, Guess they must all be stupid. All 4000 of them !!
And it was Creative labs and Verite that started the whole Rendition project
in the first place.
Get a Girlfriend Son, and do your homework.

Their sound card fad died and thank god Creative Labs was able to give
us the glorious SB16.  Sierra is not making the card they are selling.
It is being produced by Canopus, Sierra is only distributing it.

What?  Intergraph is on of the most respected companies in the high-end
graphics market.  Just ask John Carmak about his new Intergraph
workstations.  Now there venture in the home market is new, but it is a
logical step.  I put much more faith in them than I do a company like
Creative.

You'll notice I never said anything about their soundcard drivers (even
though the latest SB16 ones still don't work properly with DirectX
3.0).  They have posted the latest BIOS for the 3D Blaster, but not
drivers.  Their tech support is lousy, very few will argue this point.

Get one the phone and call both Creative's and Intergraph's Tech
support.  Try sending an e-mail too.  Just see which one responds
first.

Read the message title.  (We'll wait for you.)  "3-D Cards for
Indycar 2...".  Perhaps you will explain why the Creative Labs 3D
Blaster PCI is such a superior choice for the original questioner when
the *ONLY* way to get ICR2 for Rendition is by buying the Reactor or
the Screamin' 3D?!?

If you come back for more, then we can debate how the CL bundle
(with 2-3 3D Blaster VLB retreads [i.e. - one year-old technology])
compares to the Reactor or Screamin' 3D bundles or if Intergraph knows
anything about computer graphics hardware <snort>...
