3-D card and Screen Capture

Is there a screen capture utility that will work when using a
Rendition-based 3-D card?
This is for Nascar 2.  The '\' key appears to operate something but the
resulting image is just a mess :-)
Thanks in advance.

Currently there is no way to take screenshots of Rendition Nascar2.
It's strange that the normal key doesn't work, as it does in ICR2.

It doesn't work. (For the software (i.e. non-Rendition) graphics
engine, we have a copy of the screen in PCX format in main memory.)
For the Rendition version, the only copy of the screen exists in the
video card's memory. (Of course, we could copy it over, but that would
a) take a while [you'd notice the momentary BLURP in framerate] and b)
we didn't write the code for that.) So, instead, we just blurt out
some random pieces of memory, which would be were the screen buffer
was if you didn't have a Rendition card...

I believe that this is NOT being addressed by the patch...

As I'm sure you're aware, it works fine in ICR2.  I was just curious
why the same method wasn't used in N2?

It just didn't happen. (In fairness to the engineer(s) involved, the
graphics engine is a complete re-write, which explains several of the
*ahem* less desirable differences between ICR2 and N2 Rendition code,
including this one...)

In N2 multiplayer mode with a rendition card, there are a couple of keys
that you definately do not want to accidentally use in a chat message.

Also, while racing, there are a couple of keys that you definately do
not want to push, else your screen will freeze, the sound will continue,
and you will most likely wreck.

I suspected these had something to do with screen buffer copys?  The
momentary BLURP in framerate is there, it just does not work.  Can the
patch disable the key to prevent the accidental BLURP in framerate?
