Best 3D Accellerator

Hello all,

What do people think is the best 3D card for N2/ICR2/GP2?

I'm about to get a machine with a Matrox Millenium 2 graphics card -
which 3D cards work as an "add-on" to this and which will replace it?

Thanks for any help.

I have a Millenium with an Orchid Righteous 3DFx.  I'm very happy with this
particular combo, but I don't believe that dedicated 3D boards are supported
by N2.  However, there is a version on the N2 CD that does support the
Rendition Verite (I haven't seen it, but I'd imagine it looks better than
normal).

I would stick with your choice of Millenium II though, based solely on the
success and longevity (near domination, actually) of the original Millenium.
As for dedicated 3D boards (those that require an existing video board)  I
see that more and more games are being patched for 3DFx's Voodoo chipset (on
the Orchid, Diamond Monster 3D, and others).  In fact, I just saw a game,
newly released, that will ONLY run if you have a 3DFx based accelerator.  In
my mind, it looks like Voodoo-based boards will become the de facto standard
for dedicated 3D.  This is important, because I believe that new racing
simulators (and flight sims, etc) will look to actively support this
particular hardware.  Sooooo, maybe N3 will run at 30+ frames per second on
my Orchid  :)

The Intergraph Intense 3D 100 is fully supported by N2, as is the
Sierra port of the same Rendition Verite 1000 chip.  There's one more,
but I can't think of it off hand.

The Canopus 3d -and I believe, the PCI3dBlaster  are the other rendition
accelerated boards.
