I am re-posting this in hopes that N2 topic WEB site operators would
investigate whether posting "Cyrix to Pentium" cpu id programs such as
686_p.exe really help anyone.

If I try any of these, N2 will not run on my system.

I seem to remember Jim stating that N2 will invoke Pentium specific
operations if the CPU is ID'd as a Pentium. My Cyrix P166+ based system
will lock up starting N2 if N2 "thinks" I have a Pentium....

Or am I missing something???

Jim? Any thoughts appreciated.

Nope. You pretty much have it covered. Obviously you can't execute
Pentium routines from a Cyrix Chip. Thats what's causing your lock
ups.
