and the intro?

Martin.

Rename EAS.BIK and EAINTRO.BIK in your anim folder. That'll get rid of some
of it.

Since I put the No-CD patch in I don't get that intro anymore.

But I am getting tired of the track intro. Anyway of getting rid of the guy
describing the track every time I load one?

Pressing the spacebar(maybe any key) will shut him up.

BTW, what is this No-CD patch you referred to? Any info appreciated.

Cheers

Available at F1 Relay is a series of combined patches with no_cd.  makes
reinstalling 2001 much easier.  I imagine they also have a no_cd patch for
2002.  Gets rid of that drive cruncing safe-disk square before the movies
load up.

Thanks Charles, I'll try that.

You can get No-CD files here:

What should they be renamed? I have tried a combination of changing the
root, the extension, and both but nothing works. Any help would be
appreciated.

Also, Does the No-Cd patch work with Ralph Hummerich's Season 2002 patch. I
am not sure how to handle that one since the patch uses its own .exe file.

Thanks

Mike

Gotta use the NoCD patch, or it'll load it from the CD...

RH's patch uses the *same* .exe file, but a different config.ini file.

Thanks for the tip on the startup screens. I did just that and the screens
are gone. But how exactly do I use the No-CD patch with RH's patch?

Use the "Season 2002 by R.Hummerich v1.0" shortcut instead of the "F1 2002"
shortcut, & the game will use the "configrh02.ini" instead of the "config.ini",
but still use the NoCD "F1_2002.exe"...

Voila, no cd & much nicer cars  ;-)

Oh... and while I'm thinking about it, Ralph, Bobi, et al,  thanks so much for
the great work.  :)

Thanks for that also. I asked the question before I actually tried the
program. It worked just as you described. thanks and sorry to waste your
time.
