Yep, if you cut a corner too much. Inside Mexico's
track.ini, there are four checkpoints listed which must be
passed through, otherwise the lap won't count: turn 2, turn
3, hairpin, complex before Peralta. The fun really starts
when some online race servers turn the checkpoint-checking
off...

tracks? I'd never heard of this.
