i am probably being very dull here, but can anyone tell me how to set up gpl on
a computer with windows xp home edition software, i can get the game to
load, view the pre-game video and can see the sierra utilities on my
computer, but when it comes to playing the game i can't get any thing but the
introduction page, but then the mouse disappears of the screen and there appears
to be no way of entering the game.
can anyone help me out of this mess

I've got it to work in XP Home. What I did was install the game, install
patch 1.2, the direct3d patch, and the disconnect fix and it works fine. I
run the nvidia 21.83 drivers with the creative's first sblive release ...

You need all of the very latest patches and drivers that you can get; I
couldn't do anything in the game until I had GPL1.2 and D3D installed.
Going to 21.85 DetonatorXPs helped quite a bit too.

I have GPL running with WinXP Pro, clean install.  I installed the 1.2, D3D,
and Fast CPU patches.  Everything works well.
