The only way to increase pit times is to have your crew do less.  All
computer cars (AI) must take on 4 tires and gas.  Try changing only
outside tires.  I haven't tried this but you may want to see if where you
stop makes a difference.  If you stop in exactly the same place each
time, your pit times should be the same.  If you stop near the edge of
the allowable pit stall your times will probably be higher since they
have to carry the tires further.  Also, distance from the wall could make
a difference.  Make sure that your crew has enough room to work.

The big difference I've found though, is the consistency in which I get
(or don't get) to the pit stall.  Sometimes I'm able to get in at optimum
speeds and sometimes I can't.  When I get in and out at optimum speeds I
come out at the same place I went in.

A couple of track positions early in the race should not make a
difference.  Practice getting in and out smoothly without slowing down
too soon or too much.  Just be careful not to hit Rick Mast in the ass
when you come in too hot.

Jeff,

I was wondering the same thing.  I think the best I have ever done is 18.5 seconds
for 4 tires and fuel.  My pit guys always seem to be the slowest.  I am the first
in the pits and 10 cars may be me out just because my pit crew is slow.  Maybe I can
get those guys to practice or something. :-)

I would still like to see on the standing screen, the last lap pitted and the action
that was taken.  That way I could see if other guys were just changing 2 tires or
something.  Oh well, maybe in NASCAR 2.0.

I have found the same thing.  Before I upgraded to 1.2 I had pit times of
around 17.x to low 18s.  Now I haven't seen a 17 sec pit yet.  I was racing at
lead over the 20th place car, by the time I pitted and got back to full speed
I dropped to 23rd place, next to last on the lead lap.  I was extremely angered
I never did get back to the lead.

I would also like to see how others are doing when pitting.
