upgrade over my 64mb GF2 MX 400. In the long run i want to upgrade to a p4
2.4/9700 pro but are not able to at the moment and my current system really
sturggles to play alot of games... Any advice would be appreciated

It'd be faster, but not by all that much, and I don't think you'd get any
extra features either. If you could stretch to a Gf4 4200 (ie not an MX)
you'd have something that would probably be better in your current system,
and a whole lot better when you get your new one.
You might then be able to put off buying the 9700 for a few months & instead
get the next big thing after that.

The GF4 MX cards are ***and not much of an upgrade over a GF2. You
would be better off with a GF3 Ti card.

No, MX4 is just slightly faster MX2.

For just a little more money you can get an ATI R8500 or R9000, both
being DX8 cards, or a GF3Ti200 if you'd rather stay with nVidia, of
course, if that GF4MX is yours for next to nothing, it's a fair bit
quicker than a GF2MX
