To run your computer you need a card that suports normal SVGA (what
you call 2D). There are a FEW cards on the market that are 3D
ONLY....but these are add in cards that plug into your current 2D
card. GP2 Runs very well in SVGA on a good generic (as in $75) 1-2
meg video card, provided that the card runs well in DOS (GP2 is not
optimised for Win95).
I can run it on my slower machine (P133mgz, 1meg generic video card,
16meg normal 60ns ram) and in SVGA with all details except clouds on,
it runs at a good framerate (16+ FPS) on all but the MONACO track
(Monaco has TONS of buildings and tunnels ect that create TEXTURE
horror for a 1meg card). Overall, a very WELL OPTIMISED game!!!
