Problem with LWFF wheel

by Andrzej Osuc » Tue, 20 Feb 2001 01:03:21

Hi everybody,

I have had my Logitech Wingman FF wheel (the old type) for almost two years
now. The wheel worked perfectly until about four days ago when I noticed
that something inside the wheel started rubbing against the cover. The
rubbing can be felt when I turn the wheel right (at the very end of wheel's
movement). At first it was not strong but now it's become so annoying that
I'm afraid that if I keep using the wheel something will break completely
and my wheel will be a write-off. So, if anyone knows how to deal with the
problem (is it fixable at all?), please let me know by writing to my email
address. Please bear in mind that I am not a very technically minded person.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link. I think I've found the information I was looking for.
Now the only thing I have to do is find a person who will do this for me
since I don't think I can disassamble the wheel by myself :)

Thank you very much for your help.

Andrzej,
I just replied to a similar post, another guy with mice in  his logi ;-)

Taking off the cover is easy. Then you should be able to see what the problem
is.

Anyhow, sign up for the LWFF-forum, alotta help over there

Problem with LWFF wheel

Hi Jens,

I already visited your site and in fact I copied most of it to my hard
drive. I found the information included there very helpful indeed. My friend
is coming over to fix the wheel in a couple of days and I do hope everything
will be O.K.  I have a spare yellow (old style) Logitech but I find driving
without ff much more difficult and have problems with controlling the car.
In two weeks time we have our GPL league race in Kyalami and I hope that I
will have my wheel fixed by that time.
