The wheel grips are made of a different material , which hopefully won't
deteriorate as quickly. Pedal springs feel a little more stiff than I
remember the old wheel's springs when new, but I may be mistaken. I think
the accelerator spring on the old unit is ready to go.
The bad news is that force feedback sucks 7 fps in GPL with DX 7.0a. This
makes it essentially unusable for FF IMO. I was very surprised that the USB
wheel was this slow.
Also, FF with the MSFF just doesn't "feel right". I have never played with
another FF wheel, so I can't compare, but I have never liked FF with this
wheel in any game I've played.
Without FF, I like the wheel just fine. I would rather do without FF than
deal with the lousy pedals on the LWFF. Why can't someone make a FF wheel
that doesn't suck?

Gordon
